Book Your BBQ with us!
The special touch your guests will remember
– Weddings –
You know that ‘meet-cute’ moment that started it all? Why not kick off your wedding celebration with a ‘meat-Q’ moment, when you introduce your guests to a lifelong love affair with authentic southern BBQ?
It’s the experience of a full-on southern cookout, without the need to worry about guests’ appetites – food will never run out. And you’ll never hear a guest whisper about bland or boring. In fact, they might just say it’s the best food they’ve ever had! The father of the bride might even ask for a sample before dinner (it’s happened before).
– Corporate Events –
We’re fun and eager to give you the best tasting BBQ around. Nothing says ‘we value you’ like a mouthful of great-tasting BBQ. Whether you’re celebrating a company milestone, a growing business, a retirement, client-appreciation event or product launch, we have the professional staff to make sure your catering goes off without a hitch.
We make it easy to plan your menu and then deliver it with exceptional customer service and of course, always a smile!
Our BBQ team can be customised to your event!
Our catering staff can range from 16 to 66 team members, which means we can accommodate groups from 50-300 guests. We can work directly with you, other vendors or party planners, to ensure your special day is exactly how you want it.
We care about the food we put out and the service we provide. Have an out-of-the-way venue? No problem. We have experience working in many different conditions: outdoors, in the woods, or even in a field, we can make it happen and make great food every time.
Unlike many catering options, we cook on-site as much as we can. Using a combination of charcoal, hardwood, propane, and electrical, we can power our Q even in older venues, even if the power goes out.
How to Book Our Sensational BBQ
We cater all year-round. But, May to September is our busiest time. If you’re booking for a wedding, especially a Saturday, those can fill up fast. So we recommend contacting us as soon as possible, preferably one year ahead. We also have a few regular corporate clients who book us in advance, so it’s best to approach us with as much notice as you can give. Otherwise, we take bookings up to a month ahead, if the date is available.

What does your per-person price include?
Depending on the options you choose, the per-person price usually includes your dinner served in a buffet style, all the serving trays and chafing dishes needed for the buffet line, our staff to cook, those who work the buffet line and clear tables after dinner, and our mobile kitchen/ big BBQ’s. Linens and tableware are not included. However, we can arrange rentals with our sister company Long Table Event Rentals Linen. We also do not supply bar services at this time, but we can recommend a few local brewers and wineries that would make great pairings with our products.
We also offer added service options, such as:
- Buffet with onsite cooking
- Family style service with onsite cooking (Prices will change depending on number of guest)
- Plated with onsite cooking (Prices will change depending on number of guests)
I want my BBQ to be cooked all on-site. Are there any restrictions around this?
Though we always plan to cook on-site as much as possible, we have to consider food safety, environmental safety, and timelines.
If it’s a really dry week or very windy, especially in summer, we will not BBQ on-site to prevent fires. Though we carry a fire extinguisher with us at all times, we cook with real wood that cracks, pops, and sparks at random, which is not ideal in dry conditions, since we cannot control where the sparks will go.
In winter, sometimes the conditions aren’t favourable for on-site cooking. In that case, we would prepare the food in our kitchen and finish the heating process in our on-site ovens to ensure the best taste even in tricky weather conditions.
Can we keep leftovers?
Since we cannot control the food quality or food safety and handling after we leave a venue, we never leave leftovers with a customer. It’s part of our quality-control and a requirement of our insurance policy.
Fraser Health best practices also state that public venues need a representative from the catering company to be serving the food, to ensure safe handling. In order to retain our food license, we need to keep all foods under our supervision and any leftovers must be properly disposed of after an event. (But if you love our food, feel free to encourage your family and friends to book our catering for their next event!)
How exactly does on-site cooking differ from off-site?
Since most of our smoked meats take anywhere from 6-14 hours to cook, to ensure delivery timelines, we only finish them on-site, which means the last hour or two of cooking. That still gives your guests plenty of time to smell the delicious smoke, while ensuring that the meal is served on time.
All sides will still be cooked on site in our portable ovens and the salads only tossed right before dinner, to maintain freshness. Even if we cannot finish the BBQ on-site, we can always finish it in the oven and still give it that great classic BBQ taste.
What are the benefits of choosing an on-site BBQ experience versus a ‘drop-off only’ caterer?
Even if we simply finish the cooking process on-site, it’s a visual centerpiece that guests will talk about well after the event is over. Since we taste food not just with our mouths but with our eyes, it creates an event in itself when guests can see what we’re cooking and prepping – they get so excited! Better yet, they get to taste a sample while they wait for it to cook. You can’t do that with regular ‘drop-off’ catering.
What kind of sides come with your BBQ meats?
Check out our Menus Page for a full list of sides, but we assure you, we have more than mashed potatoes, and Caesar salad. We have true Southern BBQ staples mixed with a contemporary west coast style.
What wood do you use for smoking?
We use Maple, various hardwoods and Cherry wood, along with charcoal for grilling. That’s why our BBQ is such an immersive experience. Even if we prepare the food off-site, the real wood gives our meat such a strong smoke flavor that guests are still drawn towards our prep area, eager for a bite.
I don’t want my wedding looking like a picnic! My venue is classy, how will BBQ fit in?
We promise you our motto is comfort with class. You don’t have to worry about your wedding looking like a picnic. With our professional chafing/warming trays, and expert cooking and serving staff, the only thing that will feel ‘down-home’ is the delicious homestyle BBQ that turns your wedding from ordinary to wow!
Can our guests come up to the staff while they’re cooking?
Sure! We encourage questions and though we might be busy, we’ll do our best to make this an interactive experience for your guests. In fact, many of our past guests have remarked that the delectable smell reminds them of being a kid, and the charcoal reminds them of family backyard BBQ’s. Many lively conversations have been sparked around the best way to Q. It’s a conversation piece as much as a way of cooking!
